Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

In the middle of Kadoatie's clan cave runs a granite ridge, its top smoothed to form a long "counter". This is the domain of Karmatic Arcade, bartender and occasional strategist, and Daellia, chef and occasional assassin. Cade is responsible for drink-mixing and keeping brawls away from the food pile. Since harsh drinks were declared taboo by the clan elders (probably because they couldn't take the fiery stuff Cade used to mix), these days most of her trade is squirrel blood or unproven rumors. The second especially has earned her a reputation amongst nearby clans as well, whose members sometimes visit to swap favors.

Although Cade is capable of magic, she rarely finds occasion to use it. To her, having magical power is just luck—having a sharp ear and a gorgeous mate are results of skill. Until the next dragon war starts up, she'll be at her counter dishing out the latest news.
