It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Nylund now dwells in a small, isolated clan deep in an ancient forest far from civilization as both punishment and reward. He is a genuinely caring dragon, who deeply loves his family and would do anything to protect them. Unfortunately he would quite literally do anything, and his manipulative mate gave him the opportunity to do just that on multiple occasions. He destroyed villages, ripped apart cities, took countless lives, literally becoming a monster and betraying everything he was and everything he stood for all for her. But poor Nylund never saw any of it. All he knew was that he loved her, and he was foolish enough to believe that she reciprocated his feelings. In her eyes, all he ever was was the means to an end.

Despite the damage he has caused, he has a good heart. When his mate was finally put to justice, he was given a second chance. But it feels like torture: everything he worked so hard to protect is ruined. He made himself into a monster for nothing.
