This breed of dragon was thought to exist only in legend. Although their name varies between cultures, they are often referred to as “Guardians of Nature.” They are able to channel the forces of fire, ice and lightning, which allows them to wield tremendous power. Seen very rarely, it is thought that they only become active when something is threatening the territory they have chosen to guard. In order to protect their chosen home, these dragons are incredibly adaptable; they have been seen everywhere from remote mountain ranges, to ancient forests, to the darkest depths of the ocean.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Serenne is one of the lair's oldest members, and certainly the most awe-inspiring. Rumour has it that he wasn't born a Guardian of Nature. The rumour states that he was morphed into one through the use of ancient magics, and as such, had more of a name than the lair's all-encompassing surname 'Serenne'.

As for now, he simply spends most of his time asleep, allowing moss and flowers to grow over his spines and wings. He only awakens for great danger or great celebration- either to protect the lair or for the latest turkey feast, more like. Every other time he spends asleep, perhaps for centuries if there were no feasts to enjoy. The lair has never produced another Guardian of Nature, and that is of no surprise. All the magics seemed to have gone to Serenne.

Only the draconic gods themselves, if there are any, would know how powerful he is. But how much of it is real, and how much simply stories Nobody could ever guess, and Serenne will not confirm or deny either way.
