Nebula Dragons are nocturnal creatures. With the best eyesight to be found, they are often seen staring into space. Each dragon tends to observe a particular nebula and will eventually change their colors and patterns to match it. As the nebula changes over time, the dragon changes with it. The more intricate the design of the nebula, the better chance an individual has of attracting a mate. It is said that the markings on no two Nebula Dragons will be exactly the same.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Tanzantez EmeraldDust (after the gemstone: Tanzanite) was adopted into the clan cave as its 196th dragon, discovered late one evening as The Clan Mother returned from a neighboring clan. Surprisingly, only a few feet away, she also found Tanzantiya's egg, as if the two egglings were sent together from the heavens above. As such, the duo almost never part company, and they are both extremely protective of one another. Tanzantez is a proud sort, who spends much of his waking hours studying the night skies in search of the pattern of stars which sparkle upon his wings. His green scales seem sprinkled with a dusting of emerald glitter, and his eyes match the coloration perfectly. His deep love for his mate consumes him, and he seems to almost define his existence from hers, growing together side by side since their birth. Despite this attachment, he seems reluctant to become a father, much to her dismay. The clan elders believe this will pass when he at long last, finds his nebula.
