Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The Diluculo Ruins are twisted and convoluted, home to the breeds of Dragon that few mortals wish to come in contact with--ethereal Shadow Walkers, morbid Black Marrows, even the monstrous ruined forms of three Dracolich that exist in the massive graveyard that is Necropolis. Among these, the Vampyric Dragons rule the roost, but even these undead nightmares need a broodmother.

This comes in the form of a pale white female by the name of Shyressa. This Dragoness rarely travels outside of the crypts to feed, instead allowing her 'children' to bring her the still-living injured that are pulled from the mountainside above, be they Dragons or other creatures. Her job is simple; protect and raise the young of the Coven, and oversee the attempts to introduce new blood to the coven. Occasionally, when the other breeds that inhabit the Ruins lay eggs of their own kind, she'll see that they are raised well with her own... Whether or not the parents agree to it.
