Sophrosyne Dragons are a rare sight, typically making themselves known only to protect and heal the vulnerable. A visit from one serves as a reminder that kindness prevails, and that there’s always hope for positive change. While it is known that they possess the power to reverse botched spells, some claim they can even cure methodically-cast curses. This has never been formally documented, but these dragons have been seen arriving in the aftermath of violence, and the scars of tragedy seem to heal faster in their wake. The feathers of a Sophrosyne have thus become a symbol of perseverance and light in the face of darkness.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Astro believes that somewhere high above the clouds, farther away than the moons or even the sun, there are still dragons out there living in utopian societies among the stars. If told by some of the more scientifically inclined dragons that out there among the stars there is no air to breathe and no life-energy to create the magic needed to survive there, and even if there were dragons out there, they would be so different that they probably wouldn't even qualify as dragons, Astro just snorts. He'll explain, "it's a metaphor of hope, stupid-cakes. Stay with your facts and leave poetry and truth to us dreamers," and leave a startled dragon behind.
