Frostbite Dragons first appear at the beginning of winter, creeping in with the frosts. They have found their place in human lore as the spirits of snow, since they only reveal themselves during icy weather. In the depths of winter, they cover the world in blankets of snow and are believed to be responsible for the glittering frost that creeps over everything. Although they appear cold and distant, they are actually rather mischievous and enjoy spending time dancing through blizzards.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Queen Xenophon, aka the Winter Queen, was the first Frostbite Dragon to be obtained and hatched. Her title of Queen is due to the fact that she is the eldest and most powerful Frostbite. And her dragons, along with nearly every other dragon in the cave, have come to respect her quickly.

Xenophon is very elusive, as she never reveals herself in the warmer months and only appears in the stormiest of blizzards. The cave only knows of her existence because of her hatching, though as soon as she came of age she disappeared into the mountains.

Although her years are short, her power and knowledge are quiet surprising. The mountains offers a peaceful place for her species to live, train, and teach themselves. However, sneaking into the cave at night to take a book from the library doesn't hurt.

As Queen, Xenophon tries her best to make her decisions carefully and avoid anyone getting upset. She is fearless and warm-hearted, but only rarely do these qualities thaw through the ice on her back.
