Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.
Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.
User Description
Living For Metal belongs to a prince with too much time and money on his hands and a penchant for exotic pets. As this dragon is without a doubt the most beautiful and valuable of his pets, it is rather spoilt and is allowed to move about freely not only in the castle but also the castle garden and the nearby villages. It is well known that dragons like gold and hoard it, and the prince, fearing that denying his favourite pet access to the precious metal might be detrimental to its health, even gave a special order to let it into the treasury and let it take what it wants.
Since this rule was made, the dragon has taken so much gold that the treasurer once exclaimed that the animal must be "Living For Metal", and thus it got its nickname. However, the good man was mistaken. All the villagers know that the prince's new pet could not care less for gold. But it is crazy for treats and will reward any offer of its favourite food generously—with gold from the treasury.
