Serrati Wyverns are a fierce breed of dragon typically found in volcanic areas or in desert scrubland. With their keen vision, these fearsome predators can pick out well-camouflauged prey from the slightest movement. They are named for the double rows of serrated teeth that line their beaks, which allow these wyverns to maintain an unbreakable grip on prey while they tear into their target with deadly hooked claws. Though these dragons are combative with nearly everything, they are surprisingly well-mannered when raising their offspring in communal nests. Males, however, tend to be chased off as soon as eggs are laid.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Jemsa may be a petty creature, but she is a truly fierce opponent in battle, not above using dirty tactics to defeat her enemies if necessary. Her prowess in a skirmish earned her the attention of the legendary fighter Bastien Scar-Bearer and to impress this particular female, he slew all other nearby males of their kind, utterly destroying any possible opposition for the heart of his lady-love. Though Bastien's act was a monstrous one, it served him well, initially gaining her attention and with time her affections as well. Now her pride for her mate is unparalleled and the two are always together, his possessive ways and her self-centered mindset rendering them inseparable.
