Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Raised in a small village of man, some once said that Rodius meant to oppose his father when he hatched. With the stark contrast of his father's own colors to his, few disagreed. Soon, these beliefs faded, but they did not come and go without a mark. Though not a speaker of the tongues of man, the people's expectations still embedded themselves deep within his soul, marking him.
It is said that the stripes growing on a young Striped hatchling is a physical result of a mental trauma. Once fully mature, that instability in their life becomes their greatest strength. They bear their stripes proudly, though many may not even know of their significance.
Though this belief remains unconfirmed with most striped dragons, humans point to Rodius as a confirmation that their hypothesis is correct. When as before Rodius might have taken this affirmation of troubles through human emotions as a heavy burden on his soul, he now raises his head a little higher as if to say 'I wear my stripes proudly.'
