Sunrise Dragons are closely related to sunset dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunrise Dragons prefer to live in large groups and enjoy basking in the early morning sun. They are usually most active in the morning, and go to sleep in the early evening.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Every morning, just as the sun begins to peek above the horizon, Morn flies to her favorite roost to survey her weyr.  The land she sees spread out below her is beautiful, fertile, and completely empty of other dragons.  Sunfire Weyr was once a thriving community, home to dozens of sunrise and sunset dragons, until time, illness, and dragon-slaying humans all took their toll.  Now, only Morn remains, the last of her companions having fled years ago to more populated lands.  Sunfire Weyr holds the memories of a long lifetime for her, and she's too old to want to start afresh, so Morn will stay on as long as she lives.  She'll spend her days remembering the past, and with luck, her solitude will be broken one day by some young wanderer seeking a new home.
