Water Walkers are small dragons that are frequently found around bogs and ponds. While they are flightless, they retain the flight sacs and hollow bones of their airborne cousins. These traits, coupled with their extraordinarily long, webbed toes, allow them to stand on top of calm waters, using their small sails to propel them wherever they please. They spend the majority of their lives on the water, retreating to the tops of lily pads when the waters become too rough to float atop.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Jeracepe is a Water walker dragon. Her egg was perpetually surrounded by water, and the little hatchling that came out of it made an immediate bee line for the lake. Her family stood by, ready to rush to her rescue, as they didn't know if she could swim. As it turned out, she didn't need to. Much to everyone's astonishment, the hatchling calmly proceeded to walk across the water and snack on PearlWave the Water dragon's catch of fish. PearlWave herself was too shocked to react. From then on, the hatchling lived on the water, and everyone soon got used to sight of a hatchling walking on water. The few dragons who attempted to do the same ended up swimming, or nearly drowning. Jeracepe, when she was older, soon learned to fish these wannabes out of the lake. And that is what she does now. She is the official family lifeguard- rescuing little hatchlings and the occasional pea-brained dragon from drowning in the lake.
