Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This little delinquent is the horror of family gatherings, and for good reason. Coming from a family line composed mainly of regal yulebucks and calm purples, many of his relatives are completely baffled at the sight of this little demon, unable to fathom that he is related to them. Which is understandable, considering that he prefers to set the curtains on fire and bite people's ankles while the more sophisticated party goers drink tea and share elite gossip. Accordingly, the only parties this creature attends are the ones where the presence of all the family is absolutely required.
