Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Achesia is royalty, a true princess of the isle. Though she is not truly a leader of Dragon Isle, she is so highly respected and sought after that she might as well be. The Gold dragon is extremely proud of her heritage; she was born into a royal and powerful family, and came to the island when she learned to fly. Though she is arrogant, she is also intelligent and beautiful, attracting others to her. Many of the single males on Dragon Isle wish for her to be their mate.

She is a very widely liked dragon, but many detest her as well, especially elders. Some find her arrogance to be ignorant and selfish. Despite this, she is a permanent and dazzling member of the community.
