Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has a strong odor of turpentine, and your hand burns when you touch it.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Lurchi is absolutely obsessed with human footwear. Since he can't manufacture anything himself he has taken to stealing boots, sandals, pumps, slippers, wellingtons, etc. from the nearby villages. If a human manages to find his secret hoard, Lurchi turns into the perfect salesman, praising his wonderfully worked shoes and selling them to new (or old) owners for a handful of coins.
