Originating from a single species that thrived in ancient times, Xenowyrms have become an incredibly diverse breed whose appearances vary depending on their habitats. Each Xenowyrm subspecies is heavily reliant on the power of different types of mana, making them powerful magic users. Chronos are often considered to be the most elusive of all Xenowyrm subspecies: they live in the darkest and densest forests, far from civilization. They are masters of time magic, allowing them to manipulate the flow of time at will. It is said that Chrono lairs are protected by a field of magic that makes the minutes tick by at a slow pace for any unwanted visitors.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Mystical as all Xenowyrms are, though a little more asocial than most, Eswechian Tertranos rarely strays from the depths of the tallest forests where he makes his home. He is rarely seen flying high above the ground; he much more prefers the stillness and darkness that the forest floor provides. Because of his elusive nature and even more elusive movements, Eswechian tends to attract the attention of many other female dragons, who constantly vye for his attention and chances to mate with them. But it is only the quietest females who get this chance, as Eswechian dislikes loud noises and prefers stillness. This is seen most in the force field of time magic that constantly surrounds him, where sound, but not movement, is almost ground to a complete halt.
