And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

His life, that scatters as much as the petals from his wings, is very special. To him, at least. New life, where each petal falls, life that appears where life doesn't seem to. In caves, lush greenery and abundant animals—all small—hidden away where you couldn't even begin to look.

That's how his mind is, too. Nothing dark, nothing mysterious, not innocent and ignorant, not even malicious. Just... hidden. He enjoys games, things that make someone look. Hide-and-Seek, if anyone can find him, is his favorite game. He's just different than the rest.

No one ever harms him. He's just a little scampering being, a little playful thing. So he's always safe. He's always giving new life.
