Swallowtail Dragons are graceful and quick flyers, much like their namesake bird. They are capable of precise aerial acrobatics, and can reach very high altitudes. Because of this, humans observing these dragons are often astonished at how large they are when confronted up close. A Swallowtail’s diet consists of insects and small mammals plentiful in temperate forests. These dragons are also made remarkable by their paper-thin wing membranes, which allow light to pass through, creating an astonishing effect on starry nights.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Seemus is an amazing flyer. Swallowtails are, of course, for the most part, all amazing flyers, but Seemus could pull off all sorts of amazing turns and loops. He loved to dare the other swallowtails into seeing which one of them could fly the highest, and though he always lost, he vowed that someday he would win. This day came in not the way he would have liked. He and another swallowtail were neck and neck, each just as high as the other, when suddenly the other lagged behind. Letting out a crow of triumph he sailed through a cloud and began to circle, looking to see how far above the other swallowtail he had gotten. In horror, he spotted him, falling faster and faster, after passing out from the air being too thin. Seemus dived down as fast as he could until he caught up, and flipped upside down underneath him and grabbed him before righting himself, barely stopping their fall before hitting the trees. Never again did he fly so high or dare any dragons to do likewise.
