Magma Dragons are capable of withstanding the intense temperatures of their element. They live in volcanic regions, their bodies coated in the red hot magma which clings to their scales. They must leave the lava fields in order to hunt, although they require surprisingly little food to sustain their lumbering mass.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Jay Weeks likes to keep his past secret and only a clawful know his full story. Because of dealings with a Magi Dragon he can change his form for a few hours at a time before being forced back to his natural form. He uses this power when going away from his home so most dragons and people, even those he mates with, don't know who or what he really is.

Ned Weeks is one of the very few to know his entire story. Before Ned met Felix, he was Jay's mate. Now that Ned is happily mated with Felix, Jay will visit from time to time. Sometimes spending the night with Ned or Ned and Felix. All three are in agreement, mainly because of Ned's loyalty to Jay. Ned even allowed Jay to add his last name onto his own.

Ned and Jay broke up due to the revelation of Jay's past, but Ned eventually warmed back up to Jay.
