Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Outraged that the owner Looti wouldn't give him a place to stay the night, he decided to curse a batch of Black Dragon eggs. These dragons hatched just fine, but to their dismay, they weren't able to reach adulthood. They now reside in the cave, helping out the various adult dragons with menial tasks.
