Crimson Flare Pygmies are named after their small size and speed. They are fast and love to fly up and down in steep climbs and dives, giving the impression of a flare of color in the sky. These dragons travel in swarms during migration seasons and are very social. They live in tropical locations or wherever it is warm, and they are often seen near active volcanoes.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Pygmy dragons are the smallest category of dragons, being on the same scale as domesticated animals. They are often found around concentrated populations of dragons, relying on their larger brethren to ward away potential predators and leave scraps. As such, the majority of a pygmy’s diet is scavenged. Due to their tiny size, pygmies do not breed with larger varieties of dragons.

User Description

Her wings and tail often are seen as faraway meteors in the sky, if she flies fast enough, and she always does.

The Maroon Sylph is fast. Faster than most males, faster than most females, fast enough to become barely a blur in the sky, winking away as fast as she appeared, a red comet with a yellow tail.

She hates to race, though, or participate in contests or competitions. Competing doesn't leave enough room for fun, since it's just constant stress and pressure to beat the others, to fly fast enough to nearly rip holes in your wings simply to beat a record. Flying isn't meant to be hard. It's meant to be fun. So she flies and tries to convince the larger dragons—who never take her seriously—to stop flying only for competitive reasons.

It doesn't happen much, those protests. She mostly flies. And looks like a comet. And thinks about things. And tries to juggle everything at once.

Surprisingly, she's very good at it.
