Cheese Dragons are not actually alive. They are enchanted items of food that act almost identically to dragons. They have no need to eat, but they must “live” in humid environments or they will dry out and harden.

Its name is Cheesie Poof. its name comes from the fact that his first word or rather sound was poof. He tried to blow fire. But he was unable to do so. Hence his name Cheesie Poof. He still tries to blow fire even though he'll never be able to, because he's not really a dragon.
