White Dragons are pacifists and specialize in extremely strong healing magic. The only limit of this magic is that it can’t bring back the dead. They only eat plants and never kill living things.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Jabe Snowfeather is a quiet, timid dragon who occasionally has trouble with being intimidated by patients.  When he arrived at Xeva's cave, she saw so much of herself in him that she immediately took him on as an apprentice, hoping to help Jabe as Taccu had helped her.  With Xeva's support and encouragement, Jabe has gradually grown more assertive, in the process falling madly in love with Nytall.  Their schedules may only overlap for only a few hours a day, since Nytall is nocturnal and Jabe steadfastly diurnal, but they are no less devoted for that.  Jabe is finally coming into his own as a healer, since he can finally convince patients to take his advice, and can always wake Nytall if anyone gets too belligerent.
