Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Found by the Winged Wolf already frozen and stuck in a jar, the little hatchling is merely called "Baby", although some of the more snide and conceited dragons call him a test tube child behind his back because of his origin. Baby is a shy little guy and usually to be found following the Winged Wolf wherever she goes as her faithful little shadow. Only when they are alone together does he show the playfulness that resides in his heart as he pounces bugs and other little critters. When among others in the cave, he clings to the Winged Wolf, often hiding beneath her or even on her back beneath her wings and amidst her fur. He is one of the only dragons that is allowed to follow her wherever she goes.
