Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Lysophyla was always a special dragon, her telepathic abilities developed quite early in her life, actually... as soon as she died. She was found outside the territory of Marquian's dragon clan and they where sure it was a rotten egg, it was cold and slimy to the touch. Marquian was unable to accept this, as she heard the egg speaking to her and decided to try nurturing the "rotten egg" all by herself. Even when she hatched she still needed special care. She always slept in the day because of her sensitive skin. She would look after the nest in the night. Still she grew very lonely as those she grew up with had eggs and hatchlings of their own and she always felt very alone stuck in the night-world. She longs to transform an egg as she was transformed but none of the other dragons would sacrifice their eggs to such a fate. She will continue to faithfully guard the clan's youngsters always awaiting the day her venom will awaken and she can transform eggs of her own.
