Lumina Dragons received their names from their highly reflective scales, which—at times—seem to glow. They are vain, always strutting about and preening incessantly; if one of their scales has so much as a scratch or a defect, they’ll remove it. Luckily, their scales grow back quickly, and each new growth is more beautiful than the last. These narcissistic dragons live in small groups and prefer to surround themselves with beauty. The females guard their territory and eggs while the males search for vegetation to eat.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

If his name doesn't imply it, Narcissus Luminous is a narcissistic dragon who thinks that he is heaven's gift to dragon-kind. Admittedly he is a good looking dragon with beautiful shimmering scales but he is by far not the best looking dragon—in fact a vote has been cast within the brood and it was decided that Mercurial Hunter along with Little Soul Reaper were the best looking male dragons (Shui Huying would have been in the list if he stopped singing). However, if one was to sit and talk with Narcissus, it would become quickly apparent that he isn't as bad as he is made out to be. He's just an insecure germaphobe. His excessive preening is due to Narcissus's fear of germs because he actually a very sickly dragon and can get sick at a drop of a hat. That insecurity is what makes him so arrogant and annoying.

So far Narcissus doesn't have any close friends and is lonely despite trying to hide it. He does have a deep fondness and admiration for Astra Mayeri who despises him to no end.
