Ochredrakes are a curious species with a wide array of mutations and interesting behaviors. Not as intelligent as normal dragons, they only breed with other drake species. While they may not be bright, ochredrakes are flamboyant and fun-loving with amazing, chirping voices to sing with, and tame readily in the presence of a gentle hand.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Pontiant and his best friend, Purple Pigmist, loved to cause trouble as hatchlings. As time went on, others such as The Odd One of the Silvery Song and Sepecity joined the little group. They started calling themselves the Incendiars. They don't consider themselves a branch, but the other branches do. A few dragons are born into the Incendiars, but most join by their own free will. Being an Ochredrake, Pontiant isn't very smart, but Purple Pigmist does most of the thinking behind their schemes. Pontiant's favorite prank target is Embiruk de Bixen, because he gets mad so easily. Pontiant took care of Aguanein SilverSun Dorkwed, since neither of Aguanein's parents would defect to the other's branch and both branches banned Aguanein. He insists that he only took Aguanein in because his branch needed more members, but he really does care about him.
