Soulstone Dragons are deeply empathic creatures. The pearls which they carry with them from a very young age are deeply attuned to the emotions of those around them, glowing in accordance with the strength and sincerity of the bonds individuals share with one another. Soulstone dragons have the ability to show that, even in the heat of a vicious feud, the love that friends, family, and partners share for one another remains true and strong.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Like her sister Flutter By, Lepidoptera likes butterflies and moths. She knows any number of spells for summoning, controlling, conjuring, and enchanting such insects. She also knows reams of butterfly- and moth-related poetry. Lepidoptera sleeps in such a way that she can be awake during both the day and the night, giving her a chance to observe the whole range of local species. She's also fond of mantises and bees. When she isn't playing with insects, Lepi is probably flirting with a local male dragon or raising her latest young. Sweet and motherly, Lepi isn't content unless she has a hatchling to amuse by summoning butterflies on cue or making moths dance at her whim. The darker entities in the area have learned the Soulstone is no easy target, though—she can summon and enchant a swarm of bees with weaponized stings capable of piercing any dragon's hide... and then order them to go for the eyes, and any other soft spots available. An angry mother's wrath is a formidable thing.
