Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

I'm Gazing at the Sky (Sky) gained her name due to her habit of staring off vacantly, lost in thought. Sky was born without the ability to communicate in any way; she cannot use telepathy and cannot growl or roar. As a result, she became extremely introverted. Sky has long discussions with herself that no one knows about and often daydreams. While she is shy and does not like to be noticed by other dragons, she enjoys listening to them and never forgets an interesting story or useful piece of advice. While she secretly wishes to be able to take part in conversations, Sky has become used to her way of life, and is quite happy being a "fly on the wall" in her tribe.
