Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Glorious Sun is very proud of her brilliant wings which glimmer and sparkle, preening for hours to keep their trademark shine. Being highly prized by her owner has made her a rather haughty character, often not phased by large dragons because she knows she will be protected. She and Syalis are like peas in a pod, often cleaning each other and laughing as they point out the other dragon's flaws and less beautiful scales and markings. I Walk and Turquoise practically despises her for both her girly and prissy attitude and how plain annoying she is. Glorious will often act two-faced with humans and some dragons, only picking on her 'Ugly, inbred scavengers' for cave mates if they are alone. If a dragon has more brilliant wings then her, like Aqurick, she will become very envious of them, even trying to get them abandoned or killed at times. She actually doesn't want to tease and jeer at others, she's really insecure on the inside and only goes along with what Syalis says to fit in.
