When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Saffira is the Elder dragon of the Draco Sancta. Miss Tigerlily, the dragon keeper, was comforted by the hatch of Saffira after her beloved Yemi died as a hatchling from an unknown disease. Though Saffira matured many life ages ago, Miss Tigerlily and Saffira still remember it like it happened yesterday. Young Miss Tigerlily was worried her hatchling would die for he would not mature as soon as little Miss Tigerlily wanted. He grew bigger and bigger until Miss Tigerlily knew that she needed to find a lake for her hatchling to reside in so she searched vast lands, bringing her maturing hatchling with her by stream. At last she found the perfect lake. She called it The Domi Lacus (which is Latin for "Lake of my home" or alternatively, "Lakes at home"). It even had some caves nearby! Saffira has resided in the lake ever since and Miss Tigerlily has always been near.
