Failed attempts to experiment with magic often result in transforming dragons into these hellish creatures. They are extremely dangerous, and will mindlessly kill any living creature without regard to friend or foe.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

On Hallow's Eve, a grisly ritual takes place in the clan; as the sun rises, five dragons are invariably found slain, for no apparent reason and by no visible cause. But as the mourning faded, replaced by interest in new, wraithlike eggs, one of the unknown sacrifices stirred beneath the dirt. A grisly transformation had taken place; his beautiful green scales were rotting off his peeling skin, and the vast wings that canopy dragons are so famous for were left in tatters. Bones tore right through the limp muscles, laid bare upon the surface. Some foul magic had twisted this fallen soul and tethered it to the earth, and the entity known as Tropicoh became known as Kills. He rises at moonlight and wanders aimlessly, a mindless shadow of his former self, doomed to exist eternally in the twilight.
