Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Shining Opal Dream, as her name suggests, is quite the daydreamer. She hums softly to herself sometimes, and can be found staring into space in the middle of the night. She has a passion for music, beautiful sounds, and anything that shines and sparkles in the moonlight. Other than constant humming, chirps, and small squeaks, Opal is a rather quiet dragon. She is very social though, and loyal, and has warmed up easily to her master. Opal often becomes almost unrecognizably caked with mud in her play, and acts rather like a childish hatchling at times. Still, she holds a mysterious, intelligent depth within her eyes that is matched by no other dragon. It is as if she is looking for something out there, always gazing at the stars, watching the sunrise, playing, and then starting over the cycle. What is out there that she is attempting to find, however, is still a mystery.
