Perhaps among the most venerated of dragon breeds is the Zyumorph, a breed whose selfless heroism and strong moral compass are nearly unparalleled by other dragons. Zyumorphs have an innate urge to fend off wrongdoing, and as such, are often sought after in times of peril. Although they are independently quite capable fighters, it is said that their true might is not unlocked until all six Zyumorphs are brought together in times of great duress.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Fodder knew Kanaye didn't want her from the start. She knew Kanaye had picked her and her sisters up in order to give to other people for "better" dragons. She knew this and yet she was determined that she would be the one to stay in Kanaye's cave. Not because of Kanaye, oh no, but because of Dirt. Dirt was outgoing, gregarious, silly and so much fun.

Fodder didn't know why, but she had heard that once a dragon grew up while in Kanaye's cave, she wouldn't (or couldn't, she was never sure which) send the dragon away. When Kanaye turned her back for just a moment, Fodder did everything she could to grow up. She willed it so hard that it just... happened. And, as promised, when Kanaye turned back, she just sighed, said "Great, Zombie Fodder", wrote something on a rather over-sized scroll and walked away.

Her place secured, Fodder made her way happily to Dirt's room in the Black section of Kanaye's cave, settled down, and waited for her playmate to show up.
