Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

There was a time this dragon used to look into his father's eyes. In a happy home, he was a king and had a golden throne. Those days are gone, now the memories are on the wall. He hears the songs from the places where he was born. Up on the hill across the blue lake, that's where he had his first heartbreak. He still remembers how it all changed: His father said, "Don't you worry, don't you worry, child. See heaven's got a plan for you. Don't you worry, don't you worry now"
