Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Hawkfoot is an ancient WindClan queen.

She is known to have kits that are only about three moons old. When Daisytail, a fellow queen, is worried about her underage apprentice son, Hawkfoot says that it is their duty to provide the Clan with warriors. She eventually sees Daisytail's point of view, and helps her in her plan.

Later, when WindClan are preparing to fight ShadowClan, she and Daisytail jump out, saying that some of their apprentice are too young to fight, and too young to be treated as full-grown warrior. Oakleaf of ShadowClan joins them, along with several other queens. Hawkfoot and Daisytail's stand led to code 5 of the warrior code, which protects kits.
