Skywing Dragons spend most of their lives flying in the air. They hunt from the air, diving at prey from above, and land only to rest. They are some of the fastest fliers, capable of extremely high speeds. The webbing at the end of the tail acts as a rudder, allowing them to easily change direction during flight.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

As a daughter of the Skywing specie, Angkesename has no patience to stand clumsiness; her flying lessons for the older hatchlings-who have grown their wings-thus tend to be somewhat harsh. There seem to be few rumors among the youngsters regarding the fate of those supposed hacthlings who have failed to meet her expectation-some say she attacked them in rage, some argue she dragged them up high into the sky and let them fall, but all are unconfirmed-but Angkesename does not show any effort to resolve such rumors. In fact, her partner, Erunst Kan, tells she seems to rather enjoy the fearful respect from her pupils. Yet there is no doubt as to whether or not she is talented: hatchlings who have undergone her lesson can fly-really, fly.
