Sunsong Amphipteres are an unusual breed. Due to light interference caused by their magical nature, they don’t seem to be affected by any ambient light source. However, when struck by direct sunlight, they shine a brilliant gold. They are playful and ever in flight; their ethereal and mysterious appearance and the fact that they are usually only seen at a distance have led many to believe they are a symbol of hope and good fortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Aethelight, literally meaning Otherwordly Light, was hatched inside a thieves' den. The egg was stolen in order to retrieve the hatchling's scales, which then could be used to craft an invincibility cloak. Yet they had forgotten something: none of the thieves possessed the ability to use magic, which they only realized when the egg had hatched. What's more, since the den was positioned underground, they couldn't even locate the hatchling.

Agitated (because they couldn't see the hatchling, and he continually stole their food), the thieves finally sealed the building, leaving the hatchling to die...

But because of a local-occurring earthquake, caused by either whim of Mother Nature or works of a Dragon which heard his cry for help, the hatchling, who had grown wings at the time, was finally released from his underground lair: some of the thieves that returned upon hearing an earthquake had destroyed their former lair witnessed first-hand the hatchling's dance upon the rising of the sun; and so they gave him the name Aetheligh.
