This is a baby chick, not a dragon. So what was it doing in the dragons’ cave?

From his appearance, Kingsford Seltmann (or Emperor Zell, as he's commonly called) seems to be a common chicken; even before he hatched, everyone would look at his egg and say, "That's just a chicken egg." His master, who bought the egg after being told it was a rare dragon in need of a home, refused to believe those lies and raised the egg lovingly, while constantly imbuing it with mana. As a result, Emperor Zell hatched with mana reserves almost as large as those of Magi Dragon hatchlings (though he shows no signs of being capable of spellcasting, or using his mana in any way whatsoever).

Both humans and dragons often point out that Emperor Zell not only looks like a baby chick, but acts like one too, chirping and pecking without a care in the world. His master hasn't lost faith, though, and has declared that Emperor Zell will be raised to become the ruler of all dragons and prove all of the doubters wrong (to which the master's friends all sigh sadly and shake their heads).
