Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Once upon a time, Love was a happy young dragon with a strong handsome mate. Her body was weak yet she had the will power of five dragons. Even though she was forbidden from leaving the cave most of the time, she still managed to sneak out almost everyday at dusk and watch the sunset with her love. Her only dream in life was to live a happy life in her herd and raise a small family with her mate. But, one blood soaked night, her dreams where crushed. The rival herd attacked the cave and Love hid away with the hatchlings in the back of the cave. While the battle raged, Love was killed by an unknown dragon. Her herd buried her and blamed the attacking dragons for her death. Little did they know, Love had not been killed by a living dragon. She had been turned into a vampire and could never return to her herd. Now, she lives in exile with the other vampires. She lays awake during the day, thinking of the mate she lost and longing to be with him and with her herd.
