Magma Dragons are capable of withstanding the intense temperatures of their element. They live in volcanic regions, their bodies coated in the red hot magma which clings to their scales. They must leave the lava fields in order to hunt, although they require surprisingly little food to sustain their lumbering mass.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Balrog of Morgoth was once one of only seven magma dragons in her territory, regarded as shadow-fire demons, that resided in the Old Age who all struck great fear in the hearts those who fought against evil. But in the wars of the past her kin was slain, and she became the last.

Not willing to be vanquished, she fled into the deepest places of the earth, and there she hides, to this day, in eternal slumber.

She has slept for so long the races of earth that once fought against her presumed her to be dead, and eventually forgot about her terrible power and evil. But if ever day comes when the hands of a greedy race mine too deeply into the mountain under which she sleeps, she will awaken once more and smite the lands with her terror.
