Their generally kind and cheerful nature ensures Ushgorn Dragons are welcome almost anywhere. However, they like to follow a strict daily routine, with rituals for everything from eating to hunting, and any deviation from their carefully laid plans irritates them. The more substantial the interruption, the greater their anger, sometimes to the point of involuntarily causing the water around them to boil as they lose their tenuous hold over their innate fire magic. Ushgorn Dragons are also quite meticulous when it comes to making promises. Anyone who breaks such an oath will find themselves suffering from a short bout of unexpected bad luck, though the Ushgorn Dragon will deny having anything to do with it. Ushgorn coloration is determined by incubation temperature; eggs that receive more warmth take on a golden brown hue.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Newt is far more immature and playful than her serious, meticulous sister, Salamander. She is a swimming fiend, spending much of her time racing through deep bodies of water and playing with sea creatures. She's quite the aquatic acrobat, impressing many who choose to watch her. Newt loves being social. When out of the water, she's a chatty thing and will go on for hours about the beautiful things she finds underwater. If she likes someone well enough, she'll bring them gifts of unusual stones, glittering shells, and sometimes even pearls if she can find them. Newt is good about both making and keeping friends. She's generally accepting of other dragons, so long as they aren't explicitly dangerous or threatening. For as talkative as she tends to be, Newt is also a good listener. She can empathize with those going through rough times and offer then companionship. It seems the only dragon she struggles to get along with is Salamander. The two can't seem to stand each other at all.
