Seasonal Dragons take on the characteristics of the season during which they are born. Thus, eggs that are laid in spring match the pink flowers and green buds of spring, and those that are laid in the summer grow to depict the bright green of the forest trees and the yellow of the sun. Eggs laid in autumn display the bright colors of leaves falling from trees, and those that are laid during winter take on the appearance of the icy snow.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Deniee Winter is a very kind-hearted dragon. Being the second of the four seasonal dragons in the cave, she was raised quickly by the other dragons.

Deniee made lots of friends, but most of all Shazadi Terrae, Dasuke Gray, and Tobelniee Ochredrake are her best friends, being the ones she grew up with from the first day as an egg.

Deniee is always smiling and happy, and she tends to get the other dragons up and joyful. When the other dragons ask her, or when she is bored, she makes it snow beautifully.

But most of all, when she sees Kestrel, the snow that falls down is obviously full of love and compassion--but she thinks Kestrel will never love her. Only her three best friends know that she is in love with Kestrel.

Even though she is almost certain that they won't be mates, Deniee is still always gleeful and happy, and she hopes ever day for Kestrel to realize who he should truly be with.
