When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Tide Master seems to many to be a very busy dragon. Although he isn't the oldest in his tribe, he is one of the most important. Being the dragon who found the underwater cave section of the main cave, he is in charge of looking after his water friends. Tide Master is quite busy, and usually most of his eggs stay with him, although many do leave the cave to join others. He is very swift in the deep water, and has strong magic to allow him to slither on land. Tide Master may seem very proud and stuck up, but he has to be. The other dragon leaders of the tribe often look down on aquatic dragons but, Tide Master holds a lot of respect for Emperor Tiga Fin and many of the leaders.
