Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
At first, the Founder wasn't really sure what to do with the seemingly-dead egg that Maolan had dropped at her feet one day. What with the egg-shaped rocks she had kept as amusing decorations turning out to be actual stone dragon eggs, she decided to keep the egg until the caretaker dragons had decided it was really dead.
Sure enough, the egg hatched, and the bony hatchling eventually grew into a dragon with an unsettling pallor and no appetite. Or, at least, not an orthodox one...
Several months later, after quelling the disputes that came with the acquisition of a race of dragon that reproduces by transforming the eggs of other dragons, the Founder wandered about the cave, working a naming spell. There, tragedy struck, as the moment the weaving of the magic had finished was when the Founder lost her bloody mind and sang a tune she'd once heard from a comedy routine.
