Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It hatched with fins instead of legs and did not seem to react well to freshwater, so you relocated it to the nearest ocean.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Sea Shade is one of Upya's best friends and shares his interest into exploring new things. Though all the water hatchlings are joined at the fin, Upya and Sea Shade often sneak off to explore without the worry of one of the adults seeing and bringing them back. Sea Shade is solemn and quiet compared to his friend and always seems to be the word of wisdom. Being a Deep Sea dragon, Sea Shade sometimes has to leave his friends to learn how to adapt from a shallow water dragon to one that can do deep dives. Sea Shade sometimes discovers things on these dives and waits to return to the others before he and Upya go to investigate. They are almost like nest brothers.
