Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ian is a natural born fighter with a heart of gold, and though his actions usually have the Cave's best interests in mind, they tend to backfire horribly. Ian is also afflicted with a mental illness; a form of split-personality disorder. This shows whenever he fights, and when it surfaces, it's chaos.

Now, this disorder of his reveals itself as pure bloodlust and a frosty calculating expression. Friend or foe, if anyone so much as looks at him strangely while he's in this state, odds are, they'll end up dead, or somewhere close to death.

For now, the Healers of the Cave are studying this in hopes of finding a way to cure—or at least suppress—this other personality. As of yet, nothing has come up, and until someone makes a breakthrough, Ian will live with White-eye as a Healer Apprentice.
