Spotted Greenwings are relatively small nocturnal dragons. Easily recognizable by the fleshy appendages growing off of their head and rump, they are most commonly seen in forests at night, leaping and soaring from tree to tree. While generally social, spotted greenwings are very quiet and rarely make any sort of vocalization. Their bodies are unusually warm to the touch, though they are unable to breathe fire. Greenwings are voracious feeders and will consume nearly any living thing that they can fit in their mouths.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

As an egg, Teregon was discovered, abandoned, by the human girl named Flight. Growing up alongside the other hatchlings that Flight cared for, Teregon enjoyed hanging out with his "sister" Usena, a Purple hatchling, the most. Because the two were always seen together, it was a common joke among the older dragons that if Flight needed Teregon, she only had to look for Usena in order to find him. As the two hatchlings matured, Teregon's feelings for Usena began to grow, while meanwhile Usena began to stay by his side even more than usual. With Flight and the rest of Teregon's "siblings" watching in amusement, Teregon and Usena found themselves falling in love. By the time the two had fully matured into full grown dragons, they were inseparable. The two now live in a cave hidden in the Mountains of Elgar, not far from the Lake of Elgar where they still visit Flight and their other siblings.
