Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Contrary to what the species' description says, Pines could not be described as spreading any cheer to anyone or anything whatsoever. Some rumors even say that he even killed his mother. Pines, however, has not faced any investigations by the owner because of her blind favoritism to the dragon. He has always been spoiled rotten because he was one of the first Hollies the owner had ever attained. Many dragons in the pack steer clear of this horrible Holly, but his mate, Mike's Harder Lemonade, could be described as his partner in crime. Some have dared to wonder what has happened to her dearly departed mother, as well. There have been dragons who have decided to take their investigations in their own hands, but few have been ever seen again.
