Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It glows with some form of arcane energy.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Mageling is an inquisitive young dragon who has devoted his time to learn about the mysterious enchantment which froze time for him and the scroll's other frozen hatchlings. Whenever he sees his caretaker hover over a hatchling with her hand held out, he watches, listening for the enchantment to be spoken. The words are strange to his ears, but his eyes can catch the shimmer around the hatchlings as time stops for them.

Though he is devoted to his studies, Mageling will stop to play games of tag with his friends. He is never quick to anger, and feels close to the mute Ishiko.
